Living willow tunnel added to Green Man village

We've just put the finishing touches to our new living willow tunnel down by our pond, site of our growing Green Man village. Willow is fantastic - you cut a rod from a tree, stick it in the ground and it grows as though nothing has happened. We used grey willow from our Cors Caron Fach wetland with taller standards spaced at 1ft intervals and meeting at the top, interlaced with a lattice of thinner whips. It might look uninspiring at the moment but hopefully it will green up in the spring and literally take on a life of its own.
